World Marselan Day 9: All Systems Go!

The ninth World Marselan Day is this Monday, April 27, but we will be uncorking bottles over the weekend in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. See posters below.

Partner venues in all three cities will feature 35 wineries from 10 regions scattered across 2,500 km of Chinafrom the eastern coast to the western deserts.

Guests can expect an intriguing range of red Marselan wine, from young, fresh and unoaked to rich, complex and barrel-aged, plus Marselan roses, sparkling wine and “blanc de noirs.”

They can also have fun comparing major regions or, in the case of Ningxia, a half-dozen sub-regions.

The festivities start tonight, April 24, at Otheroof Wine House in Shenzhen. Ease into the weekend with dozens of wines on a rooftop patio!

On April 26, The Merchants in Shanghai and MAD in Beijing get into the action, again with 35 wineries represented.

World Marselan Day was launched in 2018 by Grape Wall of China. The official date is April 27, birthday of Paul Truel, who crossed Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache in 1961 to create Marselan.
