Jiangyu, a garage-style winery nestled in Qiushan Valley near Yantai City, has released a coffee-and-wine-inspired package.
First, the coffee. Raw beans from Yunnan are soaked 30 days in oak barrels with wine lees. The beans are then removed, dried and lightly roasted.
Meanwhile, the barrels are filled with Jiangyu Chardonnay to get some of that bean and barrel essence.
Jiangyu is selling these together as a package on Little Red Book / Xiaohongshu. Get a 750 ml bottle of ‘Coffee Chardonnay’ and 100 grams of those lees-soaked beans for RMB498 / USD70.

Jiangyu is an intriguing project, nestled in Qiushan Valley near Longdai (DBR Lafite), Treaty Port, Runaway Cow, Mystic Island and Anuo. A tiny operation with big ambitions, the winery uses Shandong and Yunnan grapes while experimenting with barrels, including from northeast China.
Owner Martin Jiang‘s marketing ability is notable, too. His website lists over 200 bars and restaurants in 12 cities across China as clients. Jiangyu also exports and is part of the second shipment of China wines heading to New York.
