Crazy-busy wine consultant Deng Zhongxiang in Ningxia just posted he will exclusively distribute his personal brand Beyond Time in Hong Kong and Macau with importer / distributor East Meets West.
Burgundy-trained Deng, who consults on ten Ningxia projects—including well-known wineries like Charme, Lansai, Mountain Wave and Rongyuanmei—hosted an East Meets West team last month at United Winery, where he makes his wines.
His first shipment of Beyond Time was sent from Ningxia today, including Marselan and Syrah, thus Hong Kong and Macau wine aficionados should soon be able to get their hands on them.

This is far from Deng’s only, or most exciting, recent sales initiative.
Earlier this year, he arranged for 100 tastings across the country, each featuring six of his wines. That resulted in a wave of social media posts as imbibers in more than a dozen cities, both big and small, enjoyed Beyond Times’ Cabernet Sauvignon, Marselan and Syrah.

In any case, this new partnership means Deng will likely be popping up for wine dinners and tastings in Hong Kong and Macau, rare chances to meet a consultant who has his hands full and is hesitant to leave Ningxia and his clients.

We were able to entice Deng out of Ningxia a few times. That includes for our World Marselan Day celebration at The Merchants in Beijing, where he presented five Marselan from five of his projects, including Beyond Time, at a wine dinner (see above).

He also led a Marselan popup at Wine to Asia 2024 in Shenzhen, with KOL Terry Xu, presenting five Marselans from five projects, before we proceeded to taste 16 Marselan from China and abroad.
Based on a check of East Meets West’s online site, the company also sells Legacy Peak, The Starting Point and Tiansai wines in continental China, Kong and Macau as well as Xige (Pigeon Hill) wines in continental China.
