Grape Wall of China Challenge: Second call for wine

Posted on | February 16, 2009 | No Comments

Since the initial call last Wednesday for wine for the Grape Wall of China Challenge, 11 distributors have contacted us to submit a total of 34 bottles (see the list of companies in the top right corner of the blog). We will cap the challenge at 60 wines. Interested distributors can get the details here (中文 / English / Francais). General details on the GWOC Challenge are available here (中文 / English / Francais).

Also, after corresponding with the participating distributors, a few qualifications are in order:

1) The tasting will be “blind”, that is, the judges will not see the labels of the submitted bottles

2) The challenge directors – Frankie Zhao, Nicolas Carre, and Jim Boyce – are not judges.

I’ll post the names of the expert judges at the end of the week as we are awaiting one confirmation. I’ll post the list of consumers next week. We have a very diverse group of people lined up.
