Welcome to grapewallofchina.com, the first—as far as I know—English-language blog focused on what’s happening with Chinese wines and China’s wine market. It’s a spin-off of my first China blog—beijingboyce.com—which looks at Beijing’s nightlife. This new blog will have interviews with China wine experts and posts on winery visits, tastings I’ve organized or attended, and links to media reports on the local wine scene.
This week is a busy one, but starting next month, I’ll be posting regularly. I’ll also be upgrading the blog’s look and including some relevant material from my Beijing blog.
Finally, I’ll continue with my mission to find seven decent Chinese wines that anyone can buy for USD 100 for a home tasting. If nothing else, the research can be enjoyable.

I’ll soon write up my notes from a recent visit to Chateau Bolongbao organized by the Beijing Wine Club and I’ll also cross-post from my other site a trip to Taillan winery that Frank Siegel organized for a busload of wine lovers. Both wineries are a short drive from Beijing.
